Verstappen: "You have to make the others a little nervous"

Max Verstappen comfortably won the 2020 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. He drove a long stint on the hard tyres and hinted at some problems with the tyres in the final stages of the race. But that was not what it seemed according to Verstappen.

“I could just manage it easily," says Verstappen in front of the Ziggo Sport camera about the tyres. "I think that was the most important part of the entire race. Especially after that safety car, when we of course drove a very long stint on one tyre. Then, of course, you just want to keep your tyre intact for as long as possible."

Towards the end of the race, it seemed to be a bit tense when the young Dutchman indicated that he had doubts whether the tyres would last. “You also have to make the others a bit nervous, don't you," says Verstappen with a twinkle in his eye. "I just said I had some vibrations, there was nothing dramatic about that or anything."
