Good news for Ferrari: The Italian team has already achieved this in 2024

Passing the mandatory crash test is essential in developing a new Formula 1 car. With the first and only test days just under two months away, there is little time to fix any problems that may emerge now.

Ferrari no longer need to worry, the Italian version of Motorsport.com report. The Scuderia has passed all crash tests with the 2024 car at the CSI centre in Bollate. The chassis has been completely revised from the SF-23. Nevertheless, the 676 - as the car is still called today - passed the test with flying colours.

The Italian website believes that the new chassis was designed by Fabio Montecchi and is said to have lengthened slightly behind the drivers' shoulders. Still, it will be a wait until February 13 before everyone can see the new car for Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. That is when Ferrari will present the car for the 2024 season to fans and media, after which the car will be driven two hundred kilometres.

The crash test is a lot stricter these days than before. After Guanyu Zhou's crash at Silverstone in 2022, the FIA tightened the requirements. Whether all teams pass the crash test on their first attempt is unclear. This is not something the teams themselves announce.
