Can Max Verstappen be considered a driver with weaknesses? According to Jacques Villeneuve, there is one that his competitors can take advantage of.
Max Verstappen is widely regarded as one of the greatest drivers in the sport’s history. Catching the Dutchman making a mistake is rare — but according to Villeneuve, that doesn’t mean he’s without weaknesses.
Villeneuve spoke in the Red Flags podcast about the political games being played on the track: ''The politics, all these games that happen outside of the car sometimes mentally will have a huge effect. And they're part and parcels of what will happen on the racetrack.''
''Everyone has a weakness, a sore spot,'' the Canadian responded when it was suggested that Verstappen's 'rage' would be his fatal flaw.
''Max sometimes sees red and goes a little bit over aggressive and it's costly for him.''

Verstappen's penalty points continue to haunt him

The 1997 world champion continued: ''In motor racing, that means you lose points on license and now he's points away from being banned from one race and there's a chance that might happen and he might race differently because of that. Russell knows that spot, but he's not in the same game.''
Just a few weeks ago, Verstappen was at serious risk of receiving a race ban, but heading into the Belgian GP, he can breathe a little easier, as some of his penalty points have now expired. Still, it remains something to keep an eye on.
