Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali hints at Formula 1 increasing entry fees. He said there are many teams very keen to enter the sport. According to him, the entry fees should be a lot higher. Who pays, who decides.
Just a few years ago, the cost was 200 million, but now rumours are that it is even heading towards the 600 million mark. The reason for the increase in payment is that there will then be a lot more teams on the grid, so the 'F1 money pie' will have to be divided into much smaller pieces. The F1 CEO looks back to when the entry fee was only 200 million.
"At that time no one would have expected that the value of this business would rise up so much. Today the situation is totally different, for sure." Domenicali told investors. The process of having another team has been launched by the FIA," the Italian said. "In our governance, in our Concorde, there's a possibility to do it."
