Alex Albon has become one of the favourites for the vacant seat at Toro Rosso recently, but the situation could become confusing as he has been named on the list of drivers on the entry list for the next Formula E season.
The British-Thai driver had signed a multi-year deal with the Nissan e.dams team, and although there have been negotiations between Red Bull and Nissan, the Formula E team hold all the power in regards to releasing Albon from his contract.
Red Bull have not been impressed with Brendon Hartley’s performances this season and are looking to replace him after just one full year in the sport.
Albon could be replaced by Oliver Rowland, who has taken part in all the pre-season testing for the team and is likely to drive in the opening round at Ad Diriyah, Saudi Arabia.
