Breaking news from the Red Bull Racing camp. GPblog has learned that Red Bull Racing staff have been informed about the departure of the Red Bull team boss.
The decision has been made. Christian Horner has been dismissed by Red Bull's management.
The team principal, who had been at the helm for twenty years and enjoyed considerable success with the team, has now been ousted.
Racing Bulls team principal Laurent Mekies will replace Horner as team principal at the Milton-Keynes based team.

GPblog has learned that the staff has been informed of the Red Bull team principal's departure. An official press release will follow soon.
In recent weeks, rumours have been growing that Horner was about to be fired. GPblog has reported several times that Horner's position was no longer as solid as it once was.
Since the beginning of 2024, there had been turmoil within Red Bull Racing, which would not subside barring Horner's departure.

Internally, there had been calls for the Red Bull team principal's dismissal for some time.
Christian Horner had been at the helm at Red Bull for over 20 years, and he is the next key figure to leave the team after Adrian Newey, Jonathan Wheatley and Rob Marshall, albeit Horner's exit has taken place under highly contrasting circumstances. We take a look back at his Red Bull career here.
Laurent Mekies will now take over the role of team principal at Red Bull as he looks to regain some calmness amid the chaos. The Frenchman is excited about the role, as he explained in Red Bull's press release.
