Tim Kraaij is Editor-in-Chief of GPblog.com and responsible for all international editions of the platform. In this role, he oversees the editorial direction, journalistic quality, and reliability of the coverage, with a strong focus on Formula 1 and international motorsport.
In addition to his role as Editor-in-Chief, Tim is active as a Formula 1 analyst, interviewer, and columnist. He specializes in in-depth race analysis, using data from drivers and teams to identify performance trends, strategic patterns, and key developments. He also provides background stories on topics emerging from the paddock, enriched with on-site information and context from within the Formula 1 environment.
Since his first visit to the Formula 1 paddock at the 2022 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Tim has attended multiple Grands Prix each season. His consistent presence in the paddock allows him to speak directly with drivers, teams, and representatives of Formula 1 and the FIA, as well as other key figures surrounding the sport. This enables him to better interpret developments, explain underlying narratives, and add context to major events.
Tim is also a regular analyst on the video podcast F1 Paddock Update, where he and his colleagues discuss the latest Formula 1 news and provide previews and reviews of race weekends. Through his knowledge and network within and around the paddock, he adds additional context and insight to ongoing storylines.

Since 2025, Tim has held a permanent FIA accreditation, granting him structural access to the paddock and media sessions during Formula 1 race weekends.
Tim holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management and Entrepreneurship from the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, providing a strong academic foundation for his work in sports journalism and media.
Through his combination of editorial leadership, analysis, field reporting, and opinion, Tim helps readers and viewers worldwide gain a deeper understanding of Formula 1 — both on and off the track.
