Unique images: Verstappen receives his first Formula 1 World Championship

On Thursday evening the moment was there: Max Verstappen received his trophy for the world championship Formula 1 2022 in Paris. Watch the beautiful moment one more time here.

After a long season, it was all about one lap. Lewis Hamilton lost the lead to Verstappen in the final round of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and with it his eighth world title. For Verstappen, it was his first world title and so he was allowed to go to Paris to pick up that trophy for the first time. The Dutchman had been there many times before for finishing in the top three.

Verstappen was at the gala with girlfriend Kelly Piquet but saw his rival missing. Hamilton and Toto Wolff had decided not to attend the FIA gala. This could not spoil the fun for the Dutchman.
