Ricciardo jokes: 'F1 at Las Vegas GP is 98 per cent because of me'

"It was 2017. I asked for it," says Ricciardo, who indeed said once that year that it would be fat if the Formula 1 circus headed for Las Vegas. So whether he is the reason behind it all? "I mean, look, I don't want to claim everything but I'll claim like 98% of that," he jokes.

Off the track it will be spectacular in Las Vegas, but also on the track. At least, that's what Ricciardo expects. "I think it will be because probably just where it is, you know, and I think that'll just knowing where we are and seeing all the, like the bright lights will, if there is a corner that maybe, in a big open circuit, doesn't feel that good, it'll probably feel a little bit better in Vegas."
