Raikkonen prepares for NASCAR return at COTA in Austin

Kimi Raikkonen turned his back on Formula 1 some time ago, but the 43-year-old Finn is certainly not done racing yet. On Friday, he will prepare for the practice session at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, where Raikkonen will be racing on Sunday.

The 2007 F1 world champion finds himself in familiar territory. Raikkonen has been in action at the American circuit several times during his career, where he won his last F1 race in 2018. That was different in his previous participation in the NASCAR class at the Watkins Glen circuit, where he had not driven before.

Raikkonen will drive in Austin on behalf of Trackhouse Racing's PROJECT91 and will drive in the practice session at 14:05 local time on Friday. Saturday qualifying will follow at 11:30, and the race start is scheduled for Sunday at 15:30.
