McLaren takes MCL36 to the track for the first time

McLaren hopes to be successful in Formula 1 this season with the MCL36. Where the British racing stable brought out the new car in mid-February, Lando Norris took to the track for the first time on Monday afternoon.

The team of Norris and Daniel Ricciardo put in a reasonable year last season. McLaren reached fourth place in the world championship and came up just short of making things difficult for Ferrari. In the new year McLaren hopes to do a lot better in the rankings.

Because of the new regulations it seems that the team will be able to compete with Red Bull Racing and Mercedes. Although McLaren first has to show this, the confidence of the British team in a good outcome is great. Looking at the composition of the car, it is realistic that the team will do well in 2022.

This week sees the test days in Barcelona, with the teams having the first opportunities to try out their car and prepare for the new season. Under the Spanish sun, Norris already took to the track to drive a lap with the MCL36. It resulted in a beautiful picture on the circuit.
