Christian Horner did a shoey at a charity event in Miami on Thursday ahead of the Grand Prix weekend. The Red Bull Racing team boss, along with a generous donor, was presented with a shoe by Daniel Ricciardo after which champagne was then drunk from it.
Wings for Life is a charity set up by former Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz. The foundation is dedicated to the fight against spinal cord injuries.
"Somebody very kindly donated $15,000 to drink out of his shoe. And it's such a good charity that you couldn't refuse it," said Horner, who also participated himself. "Thankfully, it was a new shoe, whereas the previous one I had was out of a very sweaty boot, which thankfully it wasn't last night."
