World champion Verstappen receives award for strong Formula One season

Max Verstappen has had a very successful season in Formula 1. The Dutchman was unbeatable for almost the entire season, convincingly taking his second world title of his career. It earned Verstappen an award.

Indeed, GQ Magazine decided to give him the 2022 Athlete of the Year award for his achievements in Formula 1. The latest issue of the US men's magazine features the driver with a large photo on the cover as a result.

Not only did Verstappen close the world championship winningly, he also managed to take a record from Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel off the books. The Red Bull Racing driver became the first driver ever to record 14 victories in a single season. Moreover, never before has a driver scored so many points in a year.

Verstappen has the opportunity in Abu Dhabi to set the record at 15 wins. In recent seasons, Verstappen grabbed many more records, most of which he captured with the Austrian formation.
