Bottas damaged after brutal season

Team principle Toto Wolff is worried about Valtteri Botas' spirit and hopes that the Finn will return to winning races next season.

When speaking to Channel 4 Wolff said that "He was really good until Baku."

"I think he would have won the race there without the puncture and he would have been in the lead of the championship."

"After a long conversation I believe taht when you have not shot anymore of the championship and you know you need to give up, it kind of damages you mentally."

"I hope it's not the case."

"He say's he's not (mentally damaged) he's a strong Finn and a warrior but now over the winter we have to pick him up again and get him back to a good place."

Bottas didn't pick up a single win this season and finished the season in 5th. Mercedes will hope that he can regather himself and come back stronger for next season.
