Toto Wolff painfully reflects on the Dutch Grand Prix. Mercedes was fairly speedy and George Russell finished fourth, while teammate Kimi Antonelli fell behind due to time penalties. Looking at the competition, he feels humiliated.
Just like the rest of the Formula 1 season, McLaren dominated on the circuit. A DNF from Lando Norris due to car problems caused a setback for the British team, but competing with the McLarens does not seem possible according to Wolff. When asked how he looks back on the weekend, he is anything but positive.
"We find ourselves in a difficult situation. How can you be satisfied with the fourth place and maybe a sixth place if there was no penalty awarded?", he begins, speaking to media including GPblog.
"That's really not great. And I think this weekend between Max, the Ferraris and ourselves, it's a little bit balanced at the moment. Max was the quickest, but Ferrari was just the same."

Dissatisfied Wolff makes harsh statement about Mercedes and co.

Eventually both Ferrari drivers dropped out and Antonelli was relegated to P16.
Looking purely at the speed of Mercedes at the moment, without incidents, he uses McLaren as the benchmark this year.
"So that's not satisfying, considering at the end the McLaren on the hard tyre versus all of us on the new soft."
After a safety car, no one could overtake Piastri. Not even Verstappen, not even with fresh rubber - softs against Piastri and Norris's hard tires, with Norris ultimately dropping out.
"This is a humiliation for everyone," is his harsh conclusion.

Russell finished more than two seconds behind number three and the man of the weekend, Isack Hadjar, who was promoted to third place after Norris' retirement. Piastri won, Verstappen came second.
