For most, novice drivers, reaching Formula 1 is the absolute dream. For the majority, it also remains no more than a dream and they have careers in other cars. In any case, it helps to be included in a young driver program of one of the Formula 1 teams.

Long road

Undoubtedly, Zak O'Sullivan hopes to eventually end up in Formula 1. The 16-year-old Englishman still has a long way to go, but the first step has been taken. Since this weekend O'Sullivan can officially call himself a member of the Williams Driver Academy. As a rookie in Formula 3, he can show in the upcoming season that he is indeed a great talent. O'Sullivan will race in F3 for Carlin.

In a press release, O'Sullivan said how honoured he is to have joined Williams' academy. "It is an incredible opportunity and I can only thank Jost (Capito, CEO of Williams), Sven (Meets, sporting director) and the entire team for their confidence," he said.
"Williams is one of the most successful and respected teams in Formula One and has produced some of the sport's greatest talents. I can't wait to get started."
