Will Ricciardo's move to Renault prove that Hulkenberg is a quick driver?

Daniel Ricciardo's move to Renault could backfire on him. What if he is not the quickest driver at the team?

Ricciardo is an exceptionally quick driver who has proved this by winning seven Formula 1 races. Many would assume that he would naturally be viewed as the number 1 driver at Renault because of his proved speed, but what if his team-mate is quicker than him?

Nico Hulkenberg may not have the best Formula 1 record but he is a very quick driver. He will really threaten Ricciardo's role as number one so don't be shocked if the Hulk comes out quicker.

If Hulkenberg proves that he is competitive with Ricciardo then maybe a bigger team may look to sign him as he would have shown he is one of the best.

Italy's Autosprint quoted Hulkenberg saying, "When I heard that Daniel will be my team-mate, I was destroyed - I cried," Hulkenberg joked. "No, I'm good. I heard about it a day before it was announced and it was good news."
