Max Verstappen was the big winner in the Japanese Grand Prix. The Dutchman not only managed to take the win of the weekend, but also dragged in the world title. However, there were several drivers who stood out positively. Who takes the title 'GPblog Driver of the Day' this week?
Sergio Perez had to start from fourth place, but was lightning fast past rival Carlos Sainz. After the long red flag situation, he also managed to give Charles Leclerc a hard time. The Monegasque managed to keep his place initially, but had to settle for fewer points due to a penalty after the race.
Esteban Ocon could also be satisfied. The driver has frequently finished behind his team-mate Fernando Alonso this season, but was amply better in Japan with a fourth place. Lewis Hamilton then managed to finish higher than George Russell with a fifth place.

Latifi surprises in GP Japan

Nicholas Latifi, who is in his final season at Williams, also got into the points in Japan. The Canadian crossed the finish line just ahead of Lando Norris to secure ninth place, doing a good service to the racing stable.
