After the month-long autumn break, Formula 1 is back, and we are now right in the middle of the first of two triple headers that will take us to the end of the 2024 season. After the United States Grand Prix last week, the Mexican Grand Prix will be where teams and drivers will race this weekend. As always, there are records that could be broken this weekend around the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriquez circuit. Find out what records these could be down below.

What records can be broken at the Mexican Grand Prix?

One record that will be broken this weekend in Mexico City is that Fernando Alonso will take part in his 400th race weekend in Formula 1 after making his debut at the 2001 Australian Grand Prix. It will be the Spaniard's 397th Grand Prix start should he start the Mexican Grand Prix.
Max Verstappen will be looking to break yet another record in Formula 1, this time around the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriquez circuit this weekend. After victories in 2021, 2022 and 2023, a fourth consecutive win for the Dutchman would mean it would be just the 12th time that a driver has taken four straight wins at a single circuit in F1 history.
Charles Leclerc will be looking to back up his fantastic win at the Circuit of The Americas with another this weekend. If he can do so, it would make the 2024 season his most successful in terms of Grand Prix wins. He matched his 2022 record of three victories after his win last weekend, and a win this weekend would move him up to four wins.

Lewis Hamilton will also look to break a huge milestone this weekend. If he manages to reach lap 10 in the Grand Prix in Mexico City, he will become the second driver, alongside Fernando Alonso, to have raced 20,000 Grand Prix laps in his F1 career.
