Vettel on contract: "There's a chance we'll make the decision for the first race."

Sebastian Vettel has an important decision to make next season. Will he stay at Ferrari, or will he look for another team for a seat. There is already a lot of speculation about a possible replacement for Vettel at Ferrari, but he himself says it is important to remain patient.

"I think that the most important thing for everyone, whether or not you're in F1, is to remain patient", Vettel tells Autosport.com. Vettel himself indicates that there is a certain amount of time until he signs his contract. "Of course, it depends on when we are going to race for the first time. There is a chance that we will have to make the decision before we have a race, because at the moment it looks like we are not going to race until at least July".

Vettel was already negotiating with Ferrari, until the coronavirus put a temporary stop to these negotiations. "The important thing now is that after Australia we had to understand what situation we are in and I think that in some areas we still do not have that completely clear".

"Italy was the first European country where the virus struck. I think the national focus was of course there". Vettel himself expects to drive for Ferrari in the coming years. "I think that whatever the deal is going to be, it will be a deal in which me and the team feel most comfortable", concludes Vettel.
