Vettel believes Ferrari still have a lot to prove on track

Sebastian Vettel has insisted the team have still got to prove their championship credentials on track despite some of the changes Ferrari have made since their disastrous start at the Australian Grand Prix.
Vettel and teammate Charles Leclerc finished fourth and fifth respectively but failed to make any inroads on a dominant Mercedes team. Max Verstappen was able to overtake Vettel to take the last podium place as team order prevented Leclerc doing the same to the German.
Many had Ferrari as favourites going into the season opener after a strong pre-season testing and now Vettel has cast doubt over the team's position but believes improvements are coming.
“The last few weeks have been very exhausting for us because we wanted to understand why we did not do as well in Melbourne as we expected,” Vettel said at his press session in Bahrain.
"We are not in a position to make big promises, and Bahrain is another runway.

“But I think we have some ideas in set-up and auto-configuration that should help us to be more competitive again.
“But that's all theoretical, we still have to prove it on the track,” added the German.
