The summer break has come at just the right time for Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing. The Dutchman thinks it is high time for his team to analyse where the performance of late has come from and what it will take to have the fastest Formula 1 car on the grid again.

Verstappen tells whether Red Bull can go back to 'old' RB20

Speaking to the Dutch press during the Belgian Grand Prix weekend, Verstappen answered the question of whether he is a bit done with it after the first half of the season. "Not done with it, but I think it's good for us to analyse everything for a while," the Red Bull driver told, among others, GPblog.
After the Chinese Grand Prix, Red Bull seemed to be struggling: Verstappen was suddenly continually challenged by McLaren driver Lando Norris, while Sergio Perez fell further and further back in the World Championship standings. Did his team go down the wrong path after the F1 race in Shanghai? " Of course, I don't want to say that now, but we are going to look at everything and analyse what it all mattered, what it did to the car," the three-time world champion continued.
Red Bull has made a number of updates to the RB20 in recent months, but so far the changes have not delivered what Verstappen was hoping for. Could it be an option to go back to the pre-Miami Grand Prix basics and take a different direction in developing the car from there? "No, not at the moment," Verstappen replied firmly.
