Max Verstappen has said that "people want something to write about" after Helmut Marko discussed the possible departure of the Dutchman from Red Bull.
Verstappen could only muster a P6 at the Bahrain Grand Prix last weekend, with brake issues derailing his progress around the Bahrain International Circuit, which resulted in another crisis meeting for the Austrian team.
After the Grand Prix in the desert of Sakhir, Marko then discussed the possible departure of Max Verstappen from Red Bull Racing, with the Austrian expressing his worries about the performance clauses in the Dutchman's contract.

Verstappen "can't add" anything on Marko's concerns

In the paddock at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, Verstappen was first asked by GPblog about his thoughts on all the questions regarding his future: “Yes, people want something to write about,” responded the Red Bull Racing driver. “Everyone's talking about it, except me. I can't really add more to it."

It's been a turbulent start to the year for Red Bull and Verstappen, and as a result, the rumours between the Dutchman and Mercedes have also started swirling around. But that is also something that Verstappen is not focusing on.
I just focus on the car. And whatever Helmut says, well, this or that..." the 27-year-old continued when asked whether Marko should not talk about his future.
"Look, ultimately, I think every driver always wants to be in the fastest car. That's quite normal, I guess. But you don't have to run away immediately if things aren't going your way. We're doing everything we can to become more competitive,” concluded Verstappen.
