Verstappen on rivalry with Hamilton: 'We are normal guys'

Max Verstappen became Formula 1 world champion for the third time during the Qatar Grand Prix weekend. Verstappen's first world championship was undoubtedly the one that has stayed with him the most. In the last lap of the last race, he outsmarted rival Lewis Hamilton, putting him at the top of the world championship standings.

Since the memorable final lap in Abu Dhabi, there haven't been any major moments between the two drivers on track. Verstappen reveals that he doesn't take the rivalry with Hamilton all that seriously. In an interview with The Sunday Times, the Dutchman explained.

"I don't need that kind of rivalry," opened the Red Bull driver. "Of course, we want to beat each other, but honestly, once we’re in a private setting, it’s like just normal guys," the 26-year-old driver explained.
