Verstappen is still very young: "It was the kind of risk that Hamilton had taken"

The Turkish Grand Prix showed the difference between a patient Lewis Hamilton in the difficult circumstances and the perhaps somewhat impatient Max Verstappen. However, according to Jolyon Palmer, we have also seen this before at Hamilton.
Verstappen's weekend in Turkey did not go as hoped. Until Q3 he was lord and master at Istanbul Park, but the pole went to Lance Stroll. After a lousy start and laps behind Sebastian Vettel, Verstappen was already frustrated, according to Palmer.

Verstappen not yet as far as Hamilton

''He knew he had to pass Perez if there was a chance, but he took a little too much risk. It was the kind of risk that Hamilton had taken in his younger years at McLaren, but now he's benefiting from his experience. If Verstappen had been more careful he would have caught up with Perez by himself," the former Formula 1 driver says in his column for Formula1.com.
Yet Palmer is not sure of Verstappen's victory. ''Even without a spin, it is possible that Verstappen wouldn't have been able to win the race, as Perez and Hamilton handled their tyres very well. However, Turkey was a great chance for Max to win again and the fact that it failed will leave the driver and the team frustrated," concludes the Brit.
