Verstappen hoping Red Bull can be "more competitive next season from the start"

Max Verstappen closed the season in style and will start the winter break with a good feeling. Second place in the championship was just not possible, but that will not make much difference after his dominant weekend.

Verstappen says in front of the Sky Sports F1 cameras that he is very happy with this result. "I think it was a very controlled race and it was all about looking after the tyres with the safety car. It was a long stint on the last stint, but the car seemed to handle well on them and just very nice, controlled and enjoyable to drive," Verstappen said.

"It's always good to finish the season like this and the team worked very hard to try and improve the car and to win the last race is a good boost for everyone and a motivation for everyone going into the off-season & we are more competitive next season from the start," Verstappen added.
