Max Verstappen, despite losing out on championship glory this year, believes that the 2025 season has been his best in F1.
"Yeah, I think so. I have no regrets about my season. I think the performance has been strong. I've hated this car at times, but I've also loved it at times."
- Max Verstappen
Verstappen and Red Bull endured a tumultuous start to the season, with the Milton Keynes-based squad struggling for performance. In the first half of the season, Verstappen's best result came at the Japanese Grand Prix, where he secured pole position and defended from Lando Norris to take the win.
However, after the Dutch Grand Prix at the end of August, the Dutchman was trailing Oscar Piastri in the championship standings by 104-points. With Christian Horner out and Laurent Mekies in as team principal, many were not expecting any meaningful results from Red Bull.
Verstappen charged to victory at the Italian Grand Prix and began picking up significant momentum, which eventually culminated in a three-way fight at the final race of the season in Abu Dhabi, with Norris needing to secure a podium finish to win the championship.

Despite Verstappen missing out on the championship by just 2-points, the Dutchman closed the gap to the championship leader by a huge 102-point margin.

When asked if 2025 has been his best year in F1, in terms of driving, Verstappen responded: "Yeah, I think so. I have no regrets about my season. I think the performance has been strong. I've hated this car at times, but I've also loved it at times. I always tried to extract the most from it, even in the difficult weekends we've had."
Verstappen continued: "Like I said before, a proper rollercoaster {season} with the car. Luckily, the last, eight, nine rounds in general have been a lot more enjoyable. Also, in the team, we have a great atmosphere at the moment. We're really on a roll, positive energy, belief, confidence, and that's exactly what you want heading into next year."

Next year will see the new regulations change, and Red Bull's new partnership with Ford in order to build their own engine will come into full effect.
