Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff is very much looking forward to the upcoming Grand Prix in Baku, Azerbaijan. The current car, the W14, does not have the performance the team was hoping for prior to the season, although the Austrian is hopeful about the future.
The previous Grand Prix, in Melbourne, gave the Brackley-based men hope. "Australia showed that we are making progress, although we need to be cautious about reading too much into a single result," Wolff said. "It was a good motivator for the team though. The factories have been pushing hard in recent weeks."
"Over the next races, we want to keep on making small steps forward. The car will continue to evolve in the coming weeks, as we steadily bring performance and upgrades to the track," added the Austrian ahead of the races in Baku. Yet Wolff does not want to shout too loudly from the rooftops: "we know there is no magic bullet."

Wolff looks forward to sprint race

Mercedes are looking forward to the race weekend. "It's a challenging track with the walls close, so there's no room for error. We also have our first F1 Sprint weekend of the season with a tweaked format. It's an interesting challenge for us to tackle," the team boss concluded.
