Franz Tost has responded to comments made by Helmut Marko about Yuki Tsunoda. The Red Bull advisor called the AlphaTaur driver a 'problem child' after the British Grand Prix. Tost defends his driver.
At Silverstone, Tsunoda collided with teammate Pierre Gasly and after the race, Marko called the Japanese a "problem child". He revealed that a psychologist had been hired to work with the 22-year-old driver.
Tsunoda is known for his impatient character. The driver has already exploded several times over the board radio. Tost stands up for his driver after Marko's comments. "I like problem [children] because these are the really good [children] who can make something out of it. I don't like the holy [children]. Yuki made a mistake [in Silverstone]; he knows it and he will work on this. He is still in his development process. He is fast. He was also fast this weekend here. And he will do it his way. It takes a little bit of time", Tost is quoted by F1.com.

Tsunoda in a good position

According to Tost, Tsunoda has a good chance of staying with the AlphaTauri team beyond 2022. The driver has certainly improved since joining the team in 2021. If he continues to perform well, he will be rewarded. Last month, the team already announced that Gasly will also drive for AlphaTauri in 2023.
