Liberty Media have announced their fourth-quarter figures for previous year. In addition to the total revenue gained by the competition, it can also be judged how much prize money did the 10 teams receive after the previous season.
Last Thursday, the Liberty Media's fourth-quarter and 2024 EOY earnings report was released. Thre previous year set a new record in terms of Formula 1, with a $3.4 billion in revenue. Compared to the previous year, that number grew by $189 million. The operative income (EBIT) was $2.07 billion, with a growth of $169 million, while the declared income was $492 million, $100 million more than in 2023.
With the aforementioned figures, the prize money the teams received in 2024 could approximately be calculated. This is because the pot for the teams is based on a percentage of the competition's income. In total, $1.077 billion was 'given' to the 10 constructors, based on their standings in the constructors' championship in the 2023 season.
In addition, the Scuderia, alongside other historic teams, get a bonus every year in F1. This year, this bonus seems to be $65.6 million. There is also a so-called performance pool, where constructors' can get extra money from given the fact they won a constructors' championship in the past. Given all that information, it is possible to calculate how much each team received in 2024.
