eSports has rocketed in recent years and sim racing looks like it is set to have a big impact on Formula One.
Liberty Media, F1's owners, are set to make big changes to the sport after 2020, in an attempt to try and make the sport 'more exciting'.
Pat Symonds, who is part of a group of experts to help with this, claims that eSports can help make the sport more entertaining.
Symonds mentions the starting grid and how nowadays cars are in a two by two formation.
"In the old days you had four, three (cars abreast), all sorts of things," Symonds said to Reuters.

"What we want to know is: If we do that (with modern cars and tyres); what is likely to happen?
"Are you going to get a much more exciting first lap or are you just going to get a lot of accidents on the first corner and therefore a boring race afterwards?
"And although you could develop AI (artificial intelligence) to do that, it's actually better to do it using elite gamers.
"Those guys are pretty damn good at what they do. Can we use them to inform us as to how proposed regulations might work out?"
An eSport championship was formed last year with all of the real F1 teams, apart from Ferrari competing in it.

The finals take place in November during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend.
