Technical analyst warns: 'New technical directive makes it harder for Red Bull'

The former technical director of Stewart Grand Prix and Jordan is not so sure about Red Bull Racing not being hurt about the change themselves. According to the analyst, the new front wings were already introduced in Imola two weekends ago, and he concluded that could explain why Mercedes and Ferrari had issues at the Italian track.

Verstappen ended up winning the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, but according to Anderson, that does not necessarily mean Red Bull will have an advantage after the rules change.

After analysing their front wings, he said: "I don't think this change in front wing deflection will do Red Bull any favours. It might just make the car a bit harder to get balanced."

Based on the front wing McLaren used in Imola, he does not expect McLaren to be affected by this change."I don't foresee any major design changes required and if McLaren does need to stiffen the front wing, it will be a minor change compared to some others."
