Guenther Steiner has defended the relationship his team have with Ferrari following recent performances. In Austria, Romain Grosjean's Haas car qualified in front of a Red Bull which was followed up with a 4th place finish. Following the latest Grand Prix, Fernando Alonso claimed he was racing against three Ferrari teams [Ferrari, Haas and Sauber].
Haas are currently placed in fifth, 21 points behind 'best of the rest' team Renault. They've had a number of retirements and silly accidents throughout the season giving everyone a 'what if?' thought.
Popular pundits, including Martin Brundle, asked how similar the Haas car was to last years Ferrari at the start of the season. With the American teams' recent resurgence, the question has been brought back up. Team principal Steiner was defending the team when talking to Sky Sports.
"I think it's fair - it's in the regulations to do it like this, and the regulations were made by the people that are complaining.
"I think it's fair in the sense that we do our own development of aero, we just take the parts which in the rules are clearly defined that we can use. I feel very good about it."
