Silverstone set for resurfacing job again in 2019

Silverstone will be resurfaced again this year ahead of the 2019 British Grand Prix. Last years resurfacing led to an extremely uneven track surface and created drainage issues.
The 2018 resurfacing drew criticism for the seemingly dire state it left the track surface in with huge bumps in places. It also led to the cancellation of the 2019 MotoGP British Grand Prix after heavy rainfall resulted in drainage issues.
Reigning champion Lewis Hamilton even branded the project "a waste of money" due to the poor job that was done after experiencing the track for the first time during practice.
"The people they hired did the worst job ever," said Hamilton. "It's the bumpiest track I've ever experienced.
"It's bumpier than the Nordschleife, which is 100 years old. It's rattling your freaking eyeballs out of your brain."

The circuit itself labelled the new resurfacing project as "essential track maintenance" which will be finished in June, ahead of the British Grand Prix a month later.
