Ralf Schumacher has not held back his thoughts in his scathing assessment of the Red Bull Racing team. The former Formula 1 driver has labelled the Austrian outfit as the ‘biggest disappointment’ from a team’s perspective through the 2025 season.
The 50-year-old, talking on the Backstage Boxengasse podcast of Sky Sports Germany, stressed how the Red Bull outfit has gradually faded into irrelevance as the season has largely progressed.
“If you look at the results now, you really have to say - and people won’t like me for saying this - the biggest disappointment from a team perspective has to be Red Bull," he began.
"Sure, they started the season OK, but now they’ve really faded into irrelevance. And the low point was honestly Budapest. I can’t even remember the last time Max Verstappen - outside his time in Toro Rosso - was that far back.”

Red Bull Racing 2025 season so far

The Red Bull Racing outfit has endured a difficult season compared to the recent years; and they also made a change at team principal as Christian Horner was replaced by Laurent Mekies ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix.
The team is in fourth place on the Constructors’ Championship, after amassing only 194 points so far, with 187 of those points courtesy of four-time world champion Max Verstappen. The 2025 campaign has also witnessed Red Bull make an early driver change, with Liam Lawson replaced after just two Grand Prix by Yuki Tsunoda.
