In his first year in the premier class of motor racing, Mick Schumacher is trying to learn as much as he can. For example, he casts a glance at the competitor's cars after every Grand Prix, a habit he says he has maintained since karting.
In conversation with The Race, the son of seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher explains what he tries to learn from watching competitors' cars after the race. "This is something I've been doing since karting," he begins.

Tyres as an open book

Schumacher reveals that he particularly focuses on the condition of the tyres, as they don't reveal anything about the state of the car as well as the course of the race: "It’s always good to know especially how the tyres of other cars look, to understand and learn from that."
"Because tyres are like an open book, they will show you every little mistake and every little detail of all the cars and also of my car," the driver concluded. “So inspecting other cars was always a part and I will for sure keep doing it."
