George Russell suffered his first retirement of the season at Silverstone. While the Briton managed to finish in the top five in the first nine Grands Prix, he was forced to retire from the race at the start in England. In conversation with Formule1.nl he talks about the past race weekend.
The driver was not having his best weekend of the season in his home country. Russell finished eighth in qualifying on Saturday afternoon, which meant he had to try and move up to the front of the grid. At the start, however, things went wrong.
After a crash, Russell had to abandon the race. "It's really frustrating, because we had the pace to get back to at least sixth place," Russell said. "So many emotions, but I am happy that Zhou is okay. It's terrible to see a crash like that."

Hamilton finishes on podium at Silverstone

His teammate Lewis Hamilton fared a lot better in England. The seven-time world champion started from fifth and managed to fight his way into the top three. Hamilton even looked set to claim victory, but had to settle for third in the end.
