George Russell has admitted he was left feeling pleased with his qualifying performance despite setting a time good enough only for 19th position.
The Williams team has struggled all season but Russell spoke positively of the session afterwards having finished over a second ahead of teammate Robert Kubica.
"Yeah, it was alright considering the circumstances," he said.
"Firstly, thanks to the guys for getting the car ready from my error in practice and then obviously my spin at the start of it when Giovinazzi got in my way.
"Didn't really know what to think going into that final lap but I felt good and nailed the lap."

Russell will start from last place however after a grid penalty for a change of gearbox, a consequence of his brush with the barriers at the end of final practice.
