Frustration for Ricciardo after poor triple header

Ricciardo has missed out on a podium in each of the last four races after finishing fifth place in today’s British Grand Prix, with the last time he stepped on the rostrum being his dominant Monaco Grand Prix win.

The Australian suffered a DRS failure during qualifying and retired at the last race in Austria, where team mate Max Verstappen won.

Ricciardo admits that he is happy that F1’s first ever triple header is over. He picked up 22 points from the three races, less than one race win’s worth.

Ricciardo was running well in fourth place before making his second stop just two laps before the safety car was brought out for Marcus Ericsson’s crash, allowing others to pit without losing as much time as Ricciardo did.

He did recover to fifth after his team mate Max Verstappen suffered a brake by wire issue in the dying laps which forced him into retiring.
