Ricciardo impressed: 'It was wonderful to see'

Daniel Ricciardo finished fifth at the United States Grand Prix. The Australian stood out at Ross Brawn not only because of his excellent performance but also because of his appearance on the track.

The McLaren driver does not hide his cheerfulness in Formula 1. In America, he was frequently present and he visibly enjoyed the atmosphere on the circuit. The topman of Formula 1 has on the official website a good word for Ricciardo.

"Drivers are professionals. They must focus on the challenge of driving these cars and the challenge of the racing, but there are ones that also give the fans and the crowd even more – and Daniel is definitely doing that," he wrote.

Although Ricciardo was fully focused on bringing in as many points as possible last weekend, the driver had plenty of time left over to relax. "The NASCAR car he drove was one that was raced by one of his childhood heroes – Dale Earnhardt. Daniel wore a Texas Longhorns T-shirt and a Stetson at times during the weekend and really got into the spirit. It was wonderful to see."
