Ricciardo after fastest FP2 lap: "We're up there"

Ricciardo has expressed his confidence in his team after logging the fastest lap in the second Free Practice session on Friday, saying that Red Bull is "up there" with the best car.

The fastest lap in FP2, very good looking race-simulations; things are certainly looking up for Red Bull and Daniel Ricciardo. The Aussie is in fine form and knows his RB14 might be the car to beat this weekend.

"It's going to be close, but we're up there," he told Sky Sports F1 after Friday's sessions.

Red Bull notoriously have a bad engine when it comes to pure speed in a straight line and Baku has the longest straight of the season, but the car still looks the fastest in the simulations and on the GPS-data.

"The balance was very good, particularly in the corners," Ricciardo analyzed.

Red Bull haven't always looked their best in qualifying, but the Aussie knows that he's capable of making up for it on Sunday, should he not start on the front row.
