Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer has announced that Red Bull's new engine partner Honda's name will not be in team's F1 brand name in the next two seasons.
Aston Martin is still tied to Red Bull Racing, Honda's new deal with the Bulls hasn't changed that. So, the very catchy name Aston Martin - Red Bull Racing will still stand for the next years.
"Aston Martin has zero cross shopping with both brands, so we are completely indifferent to the name," Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer told Motorsport.com.
"Aston Martin stands for sports cars, which is an overlap only with our NSX model," Honda motorsports boss Masashi Yamamoto added to Speedweek.
"We discussed this at the board level and they think it's no problem - It's actually quite funny.
"In Tokyo, opposite our headquarters, a new car dealer was recently set up.
"Which brand? Aston Martin!" Yamamoto concluded with a laugh.
