Red Bull prodigy Lindblad achieves major milestone in Formula 2

Red Bull talent Arvid Lindblad managed to claim his first pole position in Formula 2. The young Briton showed great pace on Friday, and set the fastest time in Qualifying.

Red Bull talent Lindblad secures first ever F2 pole position

After setting the pace in the only free practice session, Lindblad took the lead already after the first runs in Qualifying. He first set a 1:25.493, and was roughly two tenths quicker than the rest of the grid.
Even after the fresh soft tyres were brought out, Lindblad remained in the lead for a long time. Only later on did Sebastian Montoya briefly took the lead with a 1:25.425, but the Campos Racing driver than improved further, and set a 1:25.180. As a result, he claimed his first ever Aramco Pole Position Award.
With these additional two points, he is in P6 in the drivers' standings, 17 points behind Jak Crawford

Kush Maini of DAMS completed the top 3 in Barcelona, ahead of Roman Stanek and Alexander Dunne. The McLaren junior however already has a three-place grid penalty for both the Sprint and the Feature Race, after he slid into the back of Victor Martins entering the pit lane in the free practice session.
Richard Verschoor finished in P6 ahead of Jak Crawford. Championship leader Luke Browning finished in P8, with Joshua Dürksen and Leonardo Fornaroli completing the Top 10.
The previous year's F3 champion will as a result start from pole position at Saturday's Sprint Race.
