Red Bull close to Mercedes in warm conditions. But why?

Many Formula 1 fans were disappointed with the second place of Max Verstappen in Spain last weekend. Verstappen finished more than twenty seconds behind winner Lewis Hamilton, while many people thought that Verstappen had a chance in the warm conditions. Despite the large gap, Red Bull performed remarkably well in the heat. But why is Red Bull Racing so much better in the warm weather?

The back of the car is remarkably tight. This can partly be explained by a hidden air exit on the side and just behind the cockpit. This hidden exit on the side and, just behind the cockpit, can considerably improve the cooling of the RB16. This output improves the balance between air intake and output. The location of the output is so ideal, that only a small opening is needed to catch a lot of cold air. Hopefully Red Bull will be able to compete at the front in the hot races with this fact!
