Alfa Romeo driver Kimi Raikkonen might have been right behind Ferrari on Friday during free practice, but the Iceman isn't bothered by that fact, as he knows Ferrari haven't shown their true pace yet.
Raikkonen finished in sixth place in both FP1 and FP2, only a tenth behind Sebastian Vettel in his Ferrari. Now, Ferrari have obviously been sandbagging to hide their true power, but it does speak to how powerful Alfa Romeo's package is.
"The car felt okay today, it was pretty smooth in both sessions, we did not have any general problems, a good first day, but we can still improve," Raikkonen told Motorsport-Magazin in typical Kimi-fashion.
"It's still a long way from being ideal - after all, we've got the lap time out today, and we'll see where it takes us tomorrow. I think we can improve even further in the set-up, it was a bit windier in the afternoon, which had made it a bit trickier, and in general, it's a bit harder to get it right, especially on this track Handling and setup to improve."
The C38 already made waves when it turned out to be the best of the rest in terms of race pace, according to data from Friday.
