According to Pirelli, together with Alpine, the tyre manufacturer have competed a successful test in France. Testing the tyres for the 2026 season is already underway (and for example this season in Mexico City, teams used compounds of the 2025 season in FP2), and today, Alpine played their part.

Successful Pirelli test with Alpine

Today, it was Alpine's turn to run the the tyres for the season which will bring a new regulation change in Formula One. The team tested the wet tyres, that are tested for the 2026 season. Jack Doohan drove the car, and completed 106 laps at the Magny-Cours circuit.
Pirelli and Alpine did not have to wait for rain, as the track was artificially watered up. Doohan's fastest time was a 1:27.352 at the track very Formula One previously competed at. The programme was mainly geared towards testing the full-wet tyres, but the Australian driver also completed a few stints on intermediates. This was the third and final two-day session of the year for Pirelli.
However, another single-day test awaits all teams on 10 December, where the slick tyres will be tested.
