Piastri makes first F1 metres of the year behind the wheel of MCL35M

Oscar Piastri got behind the wheel of the MCL35M on Thursday. In the car which McLaren entered the 2021 Formula 1 season with, the Australian made his first metres of the year.

On Wednesday it was Lando Norris who was in action on behalf of McLaren at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, Thursday it was his brand-new teammate's turn to take to the track. With that, Piastri made his first metres of the year for his new employer.

Apart from McLaren, Mercedes were also in action. On Wednesday, George Russell took to the Paul Ricard circuit, before handing over to teammate Lewis Hamilton on Thursday. Yuki Tsunoda and Nyck de Vries will also be in action at Paul Ricard this week: they will take to the track on Friday and Saturday respectively.
