Perez proud of Red Bull: 'In every area we are in top form'

Red Bull Racing is undoubtedly having its best season ever. Max Verstappen has won 12 out of 15 races. His teammate Sergio Perez is performing a bit more vicariously. Ahead of the race weekend, the Mexican says he is proud of his team, however.

This weekend is the home race for Honda. Despite the Japanese engine supplier stepping out of Formula 1 after 2021, Honda is still helping with the Red Bull Powertrains project. Perez therefore hopes the team performs well to reward Japanese fans with the constructors' championship: "It will be very special to do it here in front of all our Honda supporters. They've been working extremely hard on the engine side as well so it will be nice to to get it done this weekend."

Red Bull seemed unbeatable until the Singapore Grand Prix. The team can be proud of its performance, according to Perez: "Yeah I think the team is operating at an extreme level in all areas, on strategy, all the mechanics, reliability issues and so on has been really on top form."
