Perez agrees Verstappen's words: 'Have prepared more for the race'

Red Bull Racing may not have started the Grand Prix weekend in Bahrain perfectly, but when it mattered Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez secured their team the full front row. Understandably, Perez is very pleased with the qualifying result.

"It was a tight qualifying. I don't remember a tight qualifying battle like this before, from Q1 to Q2. It's really marginal and you can't leave anything on the table to maximise the grid potential," Perez said after qualifying.

Still, there was room for improvement. "I wasn't totally comfortable with the balance. I always believe that you can improve a tenth on your lap but I think to get this start for the team is really special," the Red Bull driver continued.

There is possibly more to come on Sunday because as Verstappen pointed out, the team has put the focus on the race. "We prepared more for the race," Perez agreed with his teammate's words. "We knew we had to make compromises for the race, and hopefully that will pay off tomorrow."
