Perez on approaching rivals: 'Three or four teams can win'

Red Bull Racing was regularly behind the times in recent race weekends. The cars of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez, respectively, experienced the necessary handling problems, especially with regard to bumps and kerbs. Perez thus feels the hot breath of rival teams in his neck and hopes Red Bull can find some more time soon.

"I think it's natural, you know. It's the third year of the same regulations. It's natural that teams are coming closer to us. We're finding it harder as well to find performance. I think we know where our biggest chunk of performance is going to come from. Hopefully once we are able to unlock some of that performance, we can be in better shape, especially at different types of circuits. ," the Red Bull driver told reporters on the Thursday ahead of the Grand Prix weekend in Canada.

The field today is much closer together than before. Perez, incidentally, does not necessarily see this as a bad development for Formula 1. "The competition is super, super high. I think this weekend there are three or four teams that can potentially get the victory."
